I don’t explain that the few pounds are more than likely due to the regular visits we now make to Starbucks, and Gabi’s penchant for sweet, syrupy, cream-topped coffees and the odd blueberry muffin.

I’ve already had a talk from Marcus about restricting Gabi’s calorie intake when I’m out with her. I of course listened to him politely, then promptly ignored his advice by taking Gabi to Serendipity 3 for frozen hot chocolate – the restaurant’s delicious speciality.

Gabi adored this outing, in part due to the frozen hot chocolate and in part to the fact she’d just watched the movie Serendipity the night before. Another on my list of suggestions.
